Asociación Mexicana para las Naciones Unidas de Jóvenes (AMNU)

AMNU (the United Nations Youth Association of Mexico) is a part of the World Federation of United Nations Associations and a nonprofit organization with operations in the rural and urban communities of the United States, Mexico and Latin America. AMNU operates in 28 of Mexico’s federal states and has served thousands of children, parents and teachers.

Its mission is to use education to raise awareness and encourage civic participation that favors respect for human rights. Its programming promotes an understanding and mutual acceptance of men, women and children regardless of their ethnicity, creed, language, national origin, socioeconomic status, gender, disability or political choice. Founded in 1985, AMNU transforms communities by working to promote positive values, healthy lifestyles, respect for sociocultural diversity and inclusion.

AMNU contributes to the reduction of violence, obesity, corruption and apathy by disseminating information and educating youth about human rights and global challenges. Through its program “Deport-es para Compartir,” AMNU helps children improve their quality of life through recreational activities and organized sports. AMNU encourages civic engagement through each participant’s conscious and purposeful participation and seeks to catalyze the potential of every child, parent and teacher so that they may become positive agents of change.
